It's a dull, wet, cold day; a fitting end to an annus horribilis for many of us.
For me, it has been a truly disastrous year full of uphill struggles, stress and loss. The one good thing that has come out of all the bad luck I have had, is that it has forced me to do a lot of much needed thinking about my future and what I really want out of life. Also, it has made me realise what good friends I have and how lost I would be without them.
I look to 2010 with optimism and hope will all my heart that it will be a year full of goodness and positive change.
There will be no wild, drunken parties for me tonight. Instead, I will indulge in a calm, quiet, end to a turbulent year.

New Blog for a New Year...
Well, I have accomplished one of my resolutions for the new year before it has even started - I have finally created a blog all of my own. This is what I wish to accomplish this year:
- Find a job, ideally one where I can use my linguistic abilities
- Complete my TESOL course within the next six months and ultimately find a job teaching English to people who actually want to learn
- If I can accomplish the above goals, then I would like to work on finding that special someone to share my life with, if I have the strength and courage to do so. But, relationships have a way of creeping up on you, usually when you least expect it...
